Software Architect

AI is fundamentally changing the way software is developed. More and more of the coding is being handled by AI agents, making it possible to deliver new software faster than ever before. At the same time, the challenge is shifting. Which architectural decisions will still hold up two years from now? How do systems, integrations, and platforms fit together? And does the software produced by AI make sense within the context of the overall solution?

Providing that technical oversight and making decisions that go beyond individual features is the role of a Software Architect.

At New Orange, you will not be doing that from the sidelines. You will work in a dedicated team where everyone shares responsibility for the final outcome. Together with a Business Consultant and an Agentic Engineer, you will translate complex business challenges into working software. You will define the architecture, make key technical decisions, and stay hands-on by building the parts of the solution where your expertise has the greatest impact. Some days you will be deep in the code, while on others you will focus on the broader technical landscape. That balance is exactly what you enjoy.

You will work on long-term projects for organisations including Valk Exclusief, NVM, BOVAG, Ortec, and Eindhoven365.

You have extensive experience with software architecture and complex software landscapes, and you are as comfortable defining the bigger picture as you are working in the code itself. You are an architect who enjoys staying hands-on when needed and naturally thinks in terms of systems, dependencies, and overall coherence. You see AI as a natural part of modern software development and understand how to apply it responsibly within software projects. You have experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, API-driven architectures, systems integration, and modern software platforms.

You can explain technical decisions clearly to both colleagues and clients. You enjoy working in small teams where responsibility is shared and everyone contributes to the final outcome. You are also curious about how the profession is evolving and want to play an active role in developing new ways of working. Finally, you live in the Netherlands and are fluent in Dutch.

You will receive a gross monthly salary between €6,000 and €8,000, 27 days of annual leave, and a personal training budget, including access to AI tooling. Knowledge sharing is also a structured part of the way we work, with dedicated time, shared tools, and clear agreements. It is not an informal exchange of ideas, but a deliberate way of learning together and continuously improving.
